Frequently asked questions
If you see a light on your camera/camcorder or smartphone when pressing a button on your remote control system. the remote is sending an IR signal to decode as it should.
An infrared (IR) remote control uses light signals sent from a transmitter located at one end of the remote to a receiver in another electronic device control system. These devices include televisions, stereos, DVD players, game consoles, and more controllers.
Why do TV remotes use infrared instead of radio waves? It's cheaper and easier. For infrared, you need an infrared diode on the transmitter, and an infrared receiver on the TV control. Cheap and easily available parts to work.
TSOP1738 sensor gets IR pulses or signals its output pin goes LOW and becomes HIGH again when the signal is lost. By default, the output pin remains in the HIGH state. A TSOP1738 sensor.
InfraRed(IR) receiver circuit using TSOP1738 Sensor. Also known as a remote tester, this circuit can turn on an LED whenever any button on the remote control is pressed. The heart of this circuit is the TSOP1738 sensor which demodulates the signals received from the remote control and gives output in the form of active low opetion.
