Frequently asked questions
This is a wireless AC line detector circuit using a bc574 Transistor. This is a very good simple AC detector for your testing.
A magnetic field is produced around a current-carrying conductor if the current through the conductor is alternating current (AC). A non-contact AC Line voltage detector detects the changing magnetic field around AC-energized objects.
A non-contact voltage detector is a device that can detect the presence of an electrical charge in a wire, cable, or piece of equipment without having to touch the object.
Zero-voltage cross-detection is commonly used as an accurate method of detecting AC characteristics, such as frequency and phase Line.
DC voltage, on the other hand, cannot be detected in this way because a DC electric field generated by the live part stays constant, and thus no inductive current flows.
