Light Switch wiring:

This diagram shows how to make Light Switch wiring. In this circuit diagram, we use an RCCB ( Residual Current Circuit Braker ), a DP MCB ( Double Pole Miniature Circuit Breaker ), a switch, and a light. First, we need to input power to RCCB, then input power to DP MCB from RCCB. then input phase line to switches then from the switch to the lamp connection. And lastly, connect the light with the neutral and earthing connection. Now this circuit is ready for use. If you want to know more about this circuit please check our youtube video below the post.

Components used to make the Light Switch wiring:

01. RCCB:

The Residual Current Circuit breaker RCCB is the Safest device to detect and Trip against Electrical Leakage current. This ensures protection against Electric shock Caused by indirect contact. Circuit breakers (CB) are automatically Operated Electrical Switches that Protect Electrical Circuits from Short-Circuiting or Overloading systems. It Protects against many major accidents. RCCB Circuit Breaker is an Electrical Wiring device whose function is to disconnect the current in the circuit.

02. DP MCB:

DP MCB In 2 Pole MCB, switching & protection is affected in phases and the neutral. A Double Pole or DP Switch is a Switch that Controls 2 Circuits at the same time. In terms of Residential Switching, this Normally means it Switches the live and Neutral at the same time. In Layperson Terms, Double Pole switches or DP Switches are Exclusively Designed to Control 2 Different Electrical Circuits at the same time, which allows the Appliances to Isolate safely and reliably. Fan or light Combinations and Medical Equipment are some of the many applications for DP Electrical Switches and Electrical components.

03. Switch:

An SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) Switch is a Switch That only Has a Single Input and can Connect Only to one Output. This means it Only Has one Input Terminal and Only 1 Output Terminal. A Switch is a Mechanical or Controlling Device That Changes the Flow of Current Direction or Interrupts the Flow of Current Within a Circuit diagram. An electrical line using Single Pole Single Throws (SPST) is Perfect for on-off switching. When the SPST is closed, the Circuit is Closed and the light from the lamp switches on the system. When The Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) is then opened, the light from the lamp goes out and the Circuit is off.

04. Light:

CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent Lamp which is an improved version of tube lights of earlier days. Like tube lights, it is a vacuum glass tube with fluorescent powder coating which is not as long and straight as tube lights but curved/twisted compact, or small in size. Like a tube light, it has electrodes or filaments at both ends. But in this case, instead of a choke, there is an electronic circuit that drives the Compact Fluorescent Lamp. Because the red wave is less in the light of the Tubelight and Compact Fluorescent Lamp, the object looks a little pale or the correct color of the object does not appear.

Frequently asked questions

What is a basic wiring diagram?

A wiring circuit diagram is a simple visual representation of the physical connections and physical layout of an electrical project system or circuit. It shows how the electrical wires are interconnected and can also show where fixtures and components may be connected to the project system.

What are the 4 wires behind a light switch?

Light switches with four wires are often used for 3-way or 4-way switch configurations in which a single light fixture can be controlled by multiple switches in different locations.

Why is a light switch called 3-way?

A 3-way switch is larger than a single pole switch and has 3 screw terminals for wiring connections, plus a ground. 2 of these take traveler wires that go from 1 switch to the other. For the third terminal, 1 switch is connected to the hot power supply wire while the other switch is joined to the light.

What is an example of a 4-way switch?

For example, as a lamp needs to be controlled from 5 different locations: to achieve this we would need two 3-way could switches and three 4-way switches. 4-way switches have four terminals on them: two for traveler wires coming in, and two for traveler wires going out.

What is common in light switches?

'Common' is the power supply terminal to which the live core wire is attached. This will usually be brown, or red on older circuit diagrams. L1 is the terminal connecting the circuit diagram to the line out to the light and should be connected to the blue wire. If you have older circuits, the wire and connected to L1 might be black.
