3 gang switch wiring:

This circuit shows how to 3 gang switch wiring, In this circuit we use 3 lights, a three gang switch, and a DP MCB ( Double Pole Miniature Circuit Breaker ). First, we need to input power to DP MCB, then need input phase line to the gang switch from DP MCB, then input phase to lamps from gang switch, and lastly input neutral line to light from the DP MCB. Now this circuit is ready for use. If you want to know more about this circuit please check the youtube video below the post.

Components used to make the 3 gang switch wiring:

01. 3 gang Switch:

An SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) Switch is a Switch That only Has a Single Input and can Connect Only to one Output. This means it Only Has one Input Terminal and Only 1 Output Terminal. A Switch is a Mechanical or Controlling Device That Changes the Flow of Current Direction or Interrupts the Flow of Current Within a Circuit diagram. An electrical line using Single Pole Single Throws (SPST) is Perfect for on-off switching. When the SPST is closed, the Circuit is Closed and the light from the lamp switches on the system. When The Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) is then opened, the light from the lamp goes out and the Circuit is off.

02. DP MCB:

DP MCB In 2 Pole MCB, switching & protection is affected in phases and the neutral. A Double Pole or DP Switch is a Switch that Controls 2 Circuits at the same time. In terms of Residential Switching, this Normally means it Switches the live and Neutral at the same time. In Layperson Terms, Double Pole switches or DP Switches are Exclusively Designed to Control 2 Different Electrical Circuits at the same time, which allows the Appliances to Isolate safely and reliably. Fan or light Combinations and Medical Equipment are some of the many applications for DP Electrical Switches and Electrical components.

03. Light:

CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent Lamp which is an improved version of tube lights of earlier days. Like tube lights, it is a vacuum glass tube with fluorescent powder coating which is not as long and straight as tube lights but curved/twisted compact, or small in size. Like a tube light, it has electrodes or filaments at both ends. But in this case, instead of a choke, there is an electronic circuit that drives the Compact Fluorescent Lamp. Because the red wave is less in the light of the Tubelight and Compact Fluorescent Lamp, the object looks a little pale or the correct color of the object does not appear.

Frequently asked questions

What is a 3-way gang switch?

A 3 gang and light switch has 3 separate controls on a single faceplate to operate different light circuit diagrams. Also referred to as triple light switches, they are often installed in rooms that have three sets of lights and provide a convenient option to control each individual as required.

Why is it a 3 way switch?

The name originates from the fact that there are 3 possible ways to wire the switches and together to control the power supply light. This includes the ability to turn the light on or off from either location, as well as the option to have the light on at one switch and off at the other.

What are 3 switches?

3-way switches are commonly used to control one light fixture from 2 different locations. For example, a long hallway or stairway might use a 3-way switch at each end so that lights can be turned on when approaching 1 end of the hall or stairway and then shut off from the other end.

What is a 3 gang 1 way switch?

This format of light switch has 3 discreet switches on a single faceplate. Basically, this is 3 Single gangs 1-way switches on a single faceplate. The only place you would use such a beast is if you had three lights (or sets of lights) in a single room each controlled by 1 of the power supply single switches.

What is 3-plate wiring?

With a three-plate system, no junction box is used. The extra plate in the ceiling rose allows the circuit cable to be looped from the ceiling rose to the ceiling rose and the switch cable to be connected directly to the ceiling rose, effectively this makes the ceiling rose its own junction and box.
