Note, For higher values like 5×103, 10×10-6, 1.6 x1012, enter the value like this for scientific notation as 5e3, 10e-6, 1.6e12, etc.

### AC Single Phase VA to KW Calculation:

The Real power (P) in kilowatts is equal to the apparent power (S) in volt-amps times the power factor (pf), divided by 1,000.

For example, let’s convert 4500 VA with a power factor of 0.9 to kilowatts.

P(Kw) = S(VA) x pf ÷ 1000
P(Kw) = 4500 x 0.8 ÷ 1000
P(Kw) = 3.6 Kw

Where:

• P = Real Power in Kilowatts (kw)
• V = Voltage in volts
• S = Apparent Power in Volt-amps (VA)
• Cosθ = Power factor in AC circuits

What is the VA in power?

A volt-ampere (VA) is the voltage times the current feeding an electrical load. A kilovolt-ampere (kVA) is 1000 volt-amperes. Electrical power is measured in watts (W)

What is VA voltage?

The volt-ampere (VA) is the unit of measurement for apparent power (VA) in an electrical circuit. It is the product of the root mean square voltage (in volts) and the root mean square current (in amperes).

How is kVA calculated?

A calculate the kVA rating for a single-phase transformer, you'll need to multiply the required input voltage (V) by the required current load in amperes (l) and then divide that number by 1000: V * l / 1000.

What is kW size?

A kilowatt is a 2 unit of power representing a rate of 2000 watts of electrical energy.

How to convert VA to volts?

A calculate voltage from volt-amps, simply divide the volt-amps by the current.
